The Son, Everlasting

In 1860, J.C.Philpot published his book, 'The Eternal Sonship of the Lord Jesus Christ' at a time when the heresy of denying eternal Sonship was prevalent. At that time and thereafter, both movements of the Gospel Standard Strict Baptists and the Plymouth Brethren found it necessary to divide, the faithful separating themselves from those who denied the Eternal Sonship of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Mr Philpot's book was re-published again in 1926 by Mr Popham. In 1979, John Metcalfe published his own booklet titled 'Eternal Sonship and Taylor Brethren'.

Belmont has already, in 2013, included a letter on this subject in the book, 'The Knowledge of God and the Gatherings of Men', and now publishes, also, this letter to a gathering of persons calling themselves 'Plymouth Brethren' but admitting, privately, to being 'Taylor Brethren', and admitting to the holding of the heresy.

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, wrote Isaiah, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against them. Rather than tolerate this heresy, we should gather to that standard.
