To neglect the book of Job is to neglect great treasure. Yet it is neglected, partly because of some of the obscurity in its English translation. Therefore, this version is derived from the examination of the best translations of the Hebrew original, the Latin Vulgate and the Greek Septuagint. Particular attention has been given to researching the Hebrew original in passages which have been previously translated in an unclear manner. | This second edition contains all of the discourses in the entire book of Job. [ The narratives at beginning and end have not been versed. ] In keeping with the Hebrew original, the discourses are in poetic form such that the whole text may be read and assimilated in a form which assists the reader. Suitable passages may be selected for singing. Common Metre has been used to give a wide variety of tune choice. |
