cherubim

The writer of the epistle to the Hebrews refers, briefly, to
'the cherubim of glory' 'downshadowing the hilasterion'.

If they are 'of glory' then how is it that they cast a shadow ?

And what is the 'hilasterion' ? [It is not a 'mercy' 'seat'.]

What are these, that appear in the very beginning of scripture at the garden of Eden ?

Why are they mentioned in so many books of the bible ?
In Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Samuel, Kings, Chronicles, Psalms, Isaiah, Ezekiel and Hebrews ?

[And why not in the Apocalypse ?]

And who is the man called 'Cherub' in Ezra and Nehemiah ?

The fact is that God has revealed something glorious in a thread that runs right through scripture.

To God be all the glory.
